AMAZONS FOR IMPACT AND DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES PARTNERS WITH THE SENATE COMMITTEE ON WOMEN AFFAIRS IN COMMEMORATION OF THE 2026 INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE AFRICAN CHILD

Abuja, Nigeria – June 16, 2026

In a significant demonstration of commitment to the welfare, protection, and development of African children, Amazons for Impact and Development Initiatives (AID Initiative) proudly partnered with the Senate Committee on Women Affairs to commemorate the 2026 International Day of the African Child (DAC).

Observed annually on June 16, the International Day of the African Child serves as a powerful reminder of the rights, aspirations, and challenges facing children across the African continent. It also provides an opportunity for governments, civil society organizations, development partners, and communities to renew their commitment to creating a brighter future for every child.

This year’s commemoration brought together policymakers, child advocates, educators, development practitioners, parents, and young people to engage in meaningful discussions on advancing child welfare, quality education, healthcare access, child protection, and inclusive opportunities for children across Nigeria and Africa.

Speaking during the event, representatives of Amazons for Impact and Development Initiatives emphasized the organization’s unwavering dedication to promoting policies and programs that safeguard the rights of children while empowering them to reach their full potential.

“As stakeholders in sustainable development, we recognize that investing in children is investing in the future of our nation and continent. Every child deserves access to education, protection, healthcare, and opportunities that enable them to thrive,” the organization stated.

The partnership with the Senate Committee on Women Affairs underscores the importance of collaborative action in addressing issues affecting children, particularly vulnerable and marginalized groups. Through advocacy, community engagement, and strategic partnerships, AIDI continues to champion initiatives that promote child development, gender equality, social inclusion, and human dignity.

The event featured keynote presentations, interactive sessions, goodwill messages, and discussions focused on strengthening child-centered policies and fostering environments where children can learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully to society.

As the world commemorates the 2026 International Day of the African Child, Amazons for Impact and Development Initiatives calls on governments, institutions, private sector organizations, and citizens to prioritize the needs of children and work collectively toward building a future where every African child can thrive.

Together, we can create lasting impact by ensuring that no child is left behind.
